Basement waterproofing in Queens
Finished basements are common in Queens homes, which makes water in the basement expensive. We look for where it’s coming in and fix the cause.
Queens has many attached and semi-attached homes with finished basements, plus detached houses in eastern Queens with full foundations. Water typically enters at foundation cracks, the joint between wall and floor, basement window wells, or through grading and downspouts that dump water against the house. Heavy cloudbursts in recent summers have made basement water a bigger concern across the borough.
In low-lying areas (parts of the Rockaways, Howard Beach, Broad Channel and southeast Queens) groundwater and flooding drive the solution, and an honest assessment matters more than a sales pitch. We explain interior and exterior options and what each can and can’t do.

Waterproofing questions in Queens
Can you waterproof a finished basement without tearing it all out?
Sometimes. Crack injection and exterior fixes can work without demolition; interior systems usually need access to the wall-floor joint. We’ll tell you what’s needed.
Why does water come in only during heavy rain?
Often it’s surface water (downspouts, grading or window wells) rather than groundwater. Those are usually the cheapest fixes.
Do attached homes limit exterior waterproofing?
Yes. Shared walls, driveways and sidewalks limit excavation, so we often combine exterior work where accessible with interior measures.
